Situation
From the ancient name Morlens in 1139, Mollens from 1228, is a small village of 322 inhabitants, located between the Mollendruz and Marchairuz mountains.
In 1791, Nicolas-Alexandre de Wattewill rebuilt the castle as it stands today.
Mollens was attached to the priory of Romainmôtier, became affiliated to Cluny in 1167 and thus became a small monastic center. In April 1798, a fire destroyed 48 houses, the church and all the village archives it contained.
Mollens has preserved its authenticity over the centuries. You can still see its characteristic fishbone fabric, its rebuilt church and traces of an ancient Roman road. For the more courageous, a climb up to the mountain pastures will allow you to meet Olivier, the shepherd, who will always welcome you with a smile
